Prof. Dr. Atila Tanyeli Pediatric Hematologist - Oncologist

In 1978, he graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. After his undergraduate education, he completed his specialty training in Pediatric Health and Diseases at Çukurova University in 1983 and then completed his minor specialties in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology and became a professor.

Blood diseases have an important place among life-threatening diseases in childhood. Successful treatment of diseases requiring bone marrow transplantation, especially leukemias, is possible with early diagnosis and proper treatment planning.

Bone Marrow Transplantation

Our BMT team, consisting of physicians, nurses and staff experienced in pediatric bone marrow transplantation, provides services to children in fully equipped units in Memorial Şişli, Bahçelievler and Ankara Hospitals, with SSI coverage and high-level diagnosis-treatment facilities.

Thalassemia, Leukemia

Our BMT team plays a major role in the treatment of diseases such as thalassemia, Fanconi aplastic anemia, immunodeficiency and leukemia.

He is the pioneer of having performed the first cord blood transplant in Turkey in 1996 at Çukurova University in a patient with thalassemia.
